Currently, the following positions are available for qualified, team-oriented candidates:  Life-Drawing Models (part-time, seasonal) and Artist-Educators (part-time, seasonal).  Please scroll down for job descriptions.

Life Drawing* Models


Models are needed for our fall and spring Life Drawing classes, which will be held Thursday evenings, 6:30-8:30pm (only one model is needed per class).  Both male and female models of all ages (must be at least 18 years old) and sizes are welcome to apply.  Models must be able to hold a pose, sitting or standing, for at least 20-minute increments and must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of class.  Some experience is preferred but not required.  Models can expect a clean, safe, and professional environment. 

Salary: $20/class hour
Type: Independent Contractor

*"Life drawing" refers to the process of drawing the human figure from observation of a live, nude model.



Part-time Artist-Instructors


Classes, workshops and outreach are important services of the Waterworks.  We are seeking experienced artist-educators with art-making and teaching skills for all "seasons" of program offerings-- Winter/Spring, Summer, and Fall.  If you have an interest in part-time teaching opportunities for early learners, children and youth, adults, senior adults, and special needs audiences please contact the Education Department at 704-636-1882 (email: education@waterworks.org).  

Applicants are required to submit a cover letter, updated resume, sample lesson or unit plans that you have personally developed and/or used, and three work-related letters of reference.

Salary: $22/class hour
