VISION

The Waterworks Visual Arts Center aspires to enhance the creative capacity of individuals and communities through extraordinary visual arts experiences that foster creativity and learning.  The Waterworks strives to be a regional leader and innovator in the exhibition of the art of our time and in museum education.  The Waterworks will be an exciting space where ideas, issues, and communities converge to expand traditional ways of thinking and explore the complex, unfolding patterns between artistic and cultural spheres.

MISSION

The Waterworks Visual Arts Center is a dynamic cultural venue dedicated to the presentation of significant art of our time.  The Waterworks presents local, regional, national, and international aesthetic and cultural diversity through the works of emerging-to-established artists.  The museum offers an innovative program of exhibitions, education, and outreach that inspires and educates its regional audiences to explore the evolution and forefront of contemporary art.
