"Docents are part of the personality of every museum.  They create powerful personal connections for visitors of all ages and interests."

Each year over 22,000 people have participated in the exhibition, education and outreach programs of the Waterworks.  And, in some way, most people have experienced the hospitality and information shared by a docent.

Docents are volunteer educators.  They are both working and retired men and women who take their time to train and attend monthly meetings to offer engaging experiences for visitors of all ages.

Please call the education department at 704-636-1882 or email
education@waterworks.org for more information about our Docent program.
