Remember when registering your child for class, select appropriate grade level child will enter in Fall 2010. Children participating in the 4-5 year old classes must reach their fourth birthday by June 1, 2010.

MORNING CLASSES 10:30-12:45
Monsters vs Aliens / Ages 4-5 Students will create a universe full of unusual creatures of all descriptions using paper maché, clay, and recycled items. They will make alien slime and goop, and even dance the Monster Mash! Instructor: Debbie L. Hoffman
Little Masters / Grades 1-2
Explore the art of Picasso, Van Gogh, Dali, and others. Students will study different art styles and techniques while creating a masterpiece of their own! Instructor: Jessica Buckwalter
Try the Wheel! / Grades 3-5 (FULL, Waitlist only)
Discover clay "throwing" techniques and tricks of the trade. Learn to use the potters wheel to make bowls, vases, and much more. Learn and have fun in the clay studio! Class limited to 8 students. Instructor: Beth Wright
AFTERNOON CLASSES 2-4:15
Paper Mache Sculptures / Grades 1-2 Students will work with paper, fibers, fabric, andwho knows what else!to create a sculpture to take home. They will also work on a group sculpture project for the Summer Student Exhibition. Instructor: MT Sidoli
Learning from the Masters / Grades 3-5
Picasso, Miro, and Dali, just to name a few. Modern art includes many artists, styles, and techniques including Cubism, Expressionism, Surrealism and Impressionism. Students will explore the history of these modern movements while creating masterpieces of their own. Instructor: Jessica Buckwalter
Amazing ARTitecture / Grades 6-8
Future designers, engineers and architects will have the opportunity to create an individually designed building created from clay. Pottery techniques in slab construction, the use of scale, and the idea of design and function will be explored. Instructor: Beth Wright

Where the Wild Things Are / Ages 4-5 Sail to the land of Wild Things! Imaginations will soar as we experience this classic childrens story. Students will create the unusual creatures from the Wild Forest and Sea of Imagination using mixed-media such as clay and paper-craft. Then discover your "inner animal" through movement and song. Drawing is a way of seeing and communicating. Train your "artist eye" as you discover the basic techniques of drawing: composition, design, and perspectiveall the basic skills to create a great drawing! Instructor: Ray Moose
AFTERNOON CLASSES 2-4:15
Claymation! / Grades 3-5 (Full, Waitlist only) If you want to make your own movie, then come to the Claymation Studio! Create a clay character, make a story board, and animate your creation using stop-motion animation. Students will use digital video equipment, choose sound effects, and create an animated short film. The movies will be edited and each student will receive a DVD. Class limited to 6 students. Instructor: Jackie Black
Drawing for Real! / Grades 6-8
Learn composition, perspective, and shadows and lightthe elements necessary to make your drawing look like the real thing. Practice drawing from 3-D objects using easels, pencil, and charcoal, as you train your "artist eye" to produce great drawings. Instructor: Ray Moose
REGISTRATION INFORMATION Members registering for three or more classes per family at the same time will receive a 10% discount. Discounts will not be retroactive. Class fees are due at registration. You may register in person (preferable) or by phone with VISA or MasterCard during regular business hours. Registration is not complete until payment is received. We appreciate your patience when registering by phone. Annual Membership must be valid at time of registration to receive member rate and multiple-class discount. No refunds will be given for cancellations fewer than three weeks (15 calendar days) before the start date of any class. In an effort to prevent overbooking, please register your children for classes you are sure they will be able to attend. No refunds for withdrawals will be given after class sessions have begun. WVAC reserves the right to cancel any class with insufficient enrollment and will refund 100% of your class fee.
To ensure a quality experience for all involved, WVAC reserves the right to refuse/remove a student due to behavioral problems. If a student is asked to leave, class fees will be forfeited with no refund. Scholarships are available. Deadlines for summer 2010 scholarship applications are May 15 for June sessions or June 15 for July and August sessions.
