Why Impressionism?, Phyllis Steimel Thoughts from an artist who studies the principles of Impressionism and Fauvism.
Post-Impressionism, Don Moore Impression broke the last of the ties with the Royal Academies of Europe. The Post-Impressionists, with the influence of the newly invented camera, set the stage for the major art movements of the 20th Century. Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cezanne, and Seurat will be shown with examples of the "isms" of the 20th Century.
Within the Wood, Rick Sorensen A demonstration of the art of wood sculpture. Rick uses mallet, chisels, knives, and gouges to release the art inside his found hardwood.

Perfecting Your Darkroom Skills Ages 16 and up Thursday 6:30-9pmFebruary 16, 23; March 1, 8, 15, 22 Instructor: Wayne Wrights Tuition: $180 / Members $150 Includes 10 sheets of photo paper, 2 rolls 35mm film, & Darkroom Fees. Additional paper and film may be purchased in the WVAC Museum Store. Students will build on existing skills to become comfortable in operating darkroom equipment, developing film, using processing chemicals, enlarging prints, using contrast filters, and more.Students will receive certification to use the Linn-Norvell Darkroom. Bring your 35mm film camera.Class is limited to 6 students.
