Bring the entire family out, and join Waterworks Visual Arts Center for a day of FREE hands-on art activities and artist’s demonstrations at our 8th Annual Family Fun Day.
This year’s theme, Celebrate Sculpture, children will be encouraged to use color, texture, and movement to create their own fun sculptures to take home.
Guided by professional artists and art educators children will have the opportunity to choose from five stations to create FUN sculptures such as:Fuzzy Fritters, Dr. SuessTruffula Trees,Animal Balloon Sculptures inspired by Harvey Potter’s Balloon Farm Animals and Jeff Coon’s Balloon Dog (as seen in Night at the Museum),Claus Oldenburg 3-D Cheeseburger, andAlexander Calder Free-Standing (Stabile) Sculpture.
Local artist Ray Moose will lead the children in a collaborative sculpture project which upon completion will be placed on display in the windows of the Empire Hotel in downtown Salisbury.
Waterworks presents Family fun Day in collaboration with the City of Salisbury’s Public Art Committee and in conjunction with the Rowan Arts Council’s Art on Easy Street.
