Looking for a creative escape? Join local potter Brent Smith for a fun-filled six-week Adult Handbuilding & Wheel Throwing class designed for beginners and those looking to build their skills.

Whether you've never touched clay before or you're ready to take your pottery to the next level, Brent's relaxed, encouraging teaching style makes learning both rewarding and enjoyable. Explore handbuilding techniques, master the potter's wheel, and create functional and decorative pieces you'll be proud to take home.

The Western North Carolina Sculpture Center is proud to present, Breath of Form: A Survey of Contemporary Sculpture. Since its founding in 2019, WNC Sculpture has been honored to host a variety of artists from across the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada. These sculptors have contributed greatly to the vibrancy of our working studio and to the free public sculpture park. WNC Sculpture feels fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with these strong artists over the years and this exhibition is a tip of the cap to them. This showcase includes a wide range of contemporary sculpture studio practices, integrated materials, formal considerations and conceptual intentions.

Young artists will create adorable clay bunnies in celebration of the return of spring. Using hand-building techniques of rolling, cutting, and pinching, students will assemble heads, ears, eyes and tails, then finish them with paint-on glazes, which will turn colorful upon firing in the kiln.

All Day Workshop: Weeds-Inspired Needlebook

In this workshop, participants will stitch a small needlebook inspired by Katherine's "Weeds" collection. Techniques include Appliqué, Stem Stitch, Running Stitch, French Knots, and Seeding. Finished size is 3”x3”. High-end materials kits provided. All kits include linen, wool felt, cotton embroidery flosses, needles, and instructional booklet. Bring a bag lunch. (Embroidery experience required).
