Our young artists will enjoy creating Spooktacular art for the Halloween season.  Children will dabble with paint, work with paper, and make their own silly dough and slime.  Story Time and the Monster Mash will add to the creativity. 

Fall Dot PaintingsAges 6-12                                                Instructor:  Shirl Hull

Saturday, October 11, 10:30-12:30am                                  Cost:  $42 / $35 members

 Young creatives will join Shirl Hull to explore the world of dots created by artist YaYoi Kusama. As a child she once dreamed of flowers which came alive, then turned into hundreds then thousands of dots. After that dream Yayoi filled her world with dots. Artists will create paintings filled with patterns and dots inspired by the pumpkins, colorful cats and otherworldly flowers of Yayoi Kusama.  

Beep Beep! Cool Cars and Kids—Ages 4-5   Instructor: ‘Ms. Debbie"‘ Hoffman

Cars and other transportation vehicles will encourage young artists to create a crazy car collage and car sculpture. Kids will get messy painting and racing with matchbox cars. Vroom! Spin art will get kids moving. Of course, no messy art class is complete without making a slime mixture.

 

Cool Car Concepts & Design—Ages 6-12              Instructor: Waterworks Staff

 Young car enthusiasts will have opportunities to experience four unique activities related to car design. Join other imaginative, cool kids who will draw, paint, and sculpt retro cars, art cars, concept cars, and even design a car of the future.

Holiday Clay Ornaments and Holiday Plates

**Children 12 and under  must be accompanied by a paying adult

 

A family holiday favorite, Holiday Clay Ornaments, returns with a new twist.  This year the ornaments and holiday plates will combine printmaking and ceramics. Printmaking offers a versatile method for surface decoration and expression. Gelli printing on clay involves applying layers of glaze to a gel plate, capturing color and intricate design detail.  The image is then transferred on to the clay.    

 

Cool Car Photo WalksAll Ages                                           Instructor:  Traci Arney

Third Saturdays, Sep 20, Oct 18, Nov 15, Dec 20 - 9:00-11:00am Cost:  $42 / $35 members, per person/per session

 

Each third Saturday of the month, Waterworks will host Cool Cars & Coffee. During the event car enthusiasts who also enjoy photography will join photographer Traci Arney. Photographers will bring the device of their choice. Ms. Arney will guide and assist the group by sharing insights and providing tips as photographers navigate the car show looking for just the right car to take just the right image. All ages and skill levels are welcome.
