This summer we are honored to welcome North Carolina painter and muralist James Keul who will engage students to deepen their skills in a variety of media.The Visiting Artist Residency will focus on contrast, sharpness of line, and color intensity. Students will explore a different medium each day, learning tools, methods, and techniques to help them better understand issues like color theory, three-dimensionality, perspective, and composition.
Day 1: Drawing
Day 2: Oil and acrylic painting
Day 3: Watercolor
Day 4: Plein Air painting
Day 5: Monotypes
Students will have fun and learn to widen their range of experimentation as they develop technical abilities.
